SUMMARY:Special Event: Hungarian Jewish Holiday Dinner
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT-Exploring Hungarian foodways with Roadie Zsofie Towne\n\nTuesday Dec. 10th 6:30pm $95\n\nThis event is SOLD OUT\, but we can add you to a waitlist! Please email rhcatering@zingermans.com to be added to that list!\nThe Roadhouse has something very special lined up for you this holiday season! Please gather with us on Tuesday\, Dec. 10th for an unforgettable\, mouthwatering Hungarian Jewish feast! The festive evening will include five courses of traditional dishes\, and each bite will make you feel like you’ve been whisked away to the Jewish Quarter of Budapest. From start to finish\, the menu has been designed by our Hungarian Roadie\, Zsofie Towne\, who will connect you with a lifetime of knowledge and passion about Hungarian Jewish foodways.\n\nZsofie was born in Hungary\, where she was raised with a love of food\, culture\, and cooking by a family in the hotel and tourism business. After moving to the U.S. as a young adult\, she studied hospitality management at EMU\, and has been working in the industry for over ten years. Although she’s not Jewish\, Zsofie’s love of the culture and food started as a child\, when she studied Jewish history with her grandparents. That love has blossomed after starting to work at Zingerman’s\, and as her knowledge has expanded\, Zsofie naturally wanted to share it with our friends in Ann Arbor! The menu she has put together for this incredible dinner reflects a deep\, traditional foodway that one could find visiting the Jewish Quarter in Budapest\, which Zsofie often visited growing up. Instead she will bring it to you for one magical evening.\n\nHead Chef Bob Bennett and Zsofie will cook up a meal that will have everyone talking well after the holidays are over. Guests will rave about the savory fish soup\, hearty beef stew with dumplings\, traditional stuffed cabbage\, and the spread of our favorite Hungarian desserts from the Bakehouse. The RoHo Bar will prepare a spiced mulled wine for a festive toast\, and if guests would like to try to prepare anything at home for their holiday table\, ingredients will be available for purchase.\n\nDo not miss this celebration during which we will connect over sumptuous dishes inspired by tradition\, hear heartwarming stories\, and create long lasting holiday memories at the Roadhouse table! \n  \nMENU\nAppetizers\n\nTocsni\nPotato pancakes\, served with sour cream.\n \nKörözött- Rustic Olaszos Kenyeren\nLiptauer cheese on Rustic Italian Bread. \nSoup\n\nSzegedi Halászlé Túrós Tésztával\nTraditional fish soup\, in the style of Szeged.
